Jimmy D. Copeland, 87, passed away Sunday evening, June 25, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

The family will be celebrating Mr. Copeland’s life Tuesday morning, June 27,  at 11:30 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service.

Jimmy was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Batesville, to the late Tom William and Alice Jeanette Segars Copeland. Jimmy was a retired auto mechanic and member of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Jimmy leaves his loving wife, Dorothy Faye Stewart Copeland of Courtland; two sons, Stewart Copeland of Mobile, AL, Dale Copeland (Angie) of Courtland; sister, Patricia Copeland Harper of Eufaula, OK; brother, Charles Copeland (Sandra) of Pope; two grandchildren, Jim Tom Copeland (Emily), Sam C. Copeland (Lindsey) both of Batesville; two great-grandchildren, Saylor Margaret Copeland and Elise Scott Copeland.

Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Copeland Wooten, Tommie Copeland Everson; three brothers, Jack Copeland, Roy Copeland and Ramer Copeland.
