Sally was born in 1938 to Thomas Sugg Greenlee, Sr. and Margaret Gertrude (Bill) Greenlee.  She graduated from Batesville High School and attended her beloved Ole Miss where she was a freshmen cheerleader, majorette in the band, freshmen favorite, and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Sally married W. Joe Reid in 1961 to whom she was a devoted wife until his death in 2015.  She and Joe had 3 children who were her pride and joy and 7 grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart.

Sally greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and cheering on her Ole Miss Rebels in the stands and on TV.  Sally always went out of her way to talk to you and made you feel special.  Known by many as “Sassy,” she loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.  She would often remind her children “to put a smile on your face – because it not only makes you feel better but makes others around you feel better” and also to “treat everyone like they are important – because they ARE important.”

She was a member of Batesville First United Methodist Church and Batesville Woman’s Club and enjoyed working at First Security Bank before retirement.

Sally is survived by her brothers Thomas Sugg Greenlee, Jr. (Betty) and Jim Ming Greenlee (Ann); her children Richard Clyde Reid (Laura), Robin Reid Boswell (Todd), and William Joseph Reid; and her grandchildren Sydney Caroline Reid, Sally Boswell Pickering (R.G.), Sloane Carlisle Reid, Evan Mackenzie Reid, Russell Joseph Reid, Jackson Thomas Reid, and Garland Todd Boswell, Jr.

Memorials may be made to either Batesville First United Methodist Church, 119 Panola Ave., Batesville, MS 38606 or Batesville Magnolia Cemetery, c/o First Security Bank Trust Department, P.O. Box 1690, Batesville, MS 38606.
