Bettye Carpenter

Funeral services for Bettye Carpenter are today (Dec. 28) at Batesville Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Long officiating. The family will receive visitors in the church sanctuary beginning at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Carpenter died Dec. 22, 2018, at her home in Batesville. Further details were not available at publication.

 

Funeral arrangements for Billy Wilson Durham, 66, were incomplete at time of publication.

Mr. Durham died Dec. 25, 2018, at the All Saints House in Grenada. His family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

 

James Anthony “Bo” Hall, Sr., died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, in Sledge. The family will hold a memorial service Saturday (Dec. 29) from 10 a.m. to noon at the Church of God on Sees Chapel Rd., east of Crenshaw.

Mr. Hall was a truck driver and was a Vietnam Veteran that served his country during two tours.

He leaves two sons, James Hall Jr (Jennifer) of Sarah; Michael Hall (Angela) of Sarah; five grandchildren; a sister, Joanne White of Batesville; two brothers, Gerald Hall of Sledge and  Timothy Hall of Askew.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Jr. and Mavis Jones Hall, two brothers, Charles Edward Hall and Dewey Cecil Hall. In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 

 

Funeral services for Pauline Williams, 69, will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary with Rev. Zannie Leland officiating. Burial will follow at the West Camp M.B. Church cemetery.

Ms. Williams died Dec. 19, 2018, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. Visitation is today (Dec. 28) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.

She was born Feb.19, 1949, in Batesville to Lawyer Williams and Emmaline Smith. She was a member of Hill Chapel Church.
