The following cases were heard in Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday, Dec.5, with Judge Jay Westfaul presiding:
James C. Phillips, 631 Warren St., Como, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness and was fined $225 due in 30 days.
Shelia Whitten, 102 Holly Cove, Batesville, failed to appear on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting arrest. A&B Bonding Co. was notified.
Odem Hammond, 109 College St., Batesville pleaded not guilty to a domestic violence-simple assault charge with a trial date set for Jan.16
Nathan Watkins, 221 1/2 Perkins Ln, Batesville, pleaded guilty to domestic violence-simple assault and was fined $417 due in 30 days.
Irvin L. Turner, 336 Callie Norwood Rd., Sardis, failed to appear on a shoplifting charge. Alright Bonding Co. was notified.
Jennifer N. Waldrop, 25 Ramsey Trailer Park., Batesville, failed to appear on a shoplifting charge. Alright Bonding Co. was notified.
Krislyn Collins, 113 Keating Rd., Batesville, failed to appear on a shoplifting charge. An arrest warrant was issued.
Johnathan Griffin, 151 Love Ave., Crowder, pleaded guilty to contempt of court and failure to follow court orders. No fine was given.
Joshua Russell, no address given, pleaded guilty to non-payment of old fines totaling $306 due in 30 days. Russell also had a hold in DeSoto Co.
In trial cases,
Even C. Doubleday, 386 File Rd., Batesville, was found guilty of simple assault. No fine was given.
Houston Boothe, 401-B Leonard St., Batesville, had a domestic violence-simple assault charge dismissed due to lack of prosecution, but was fined $443 for non-payment of old fines.
Tonya Hill, 28726 Hwy. 32 Oakland, was found guilty of DUI-refusal and careless driving and fined $944 due in 30 days.
Jessie Smith, Jr., 234 West St., Batesville, had a charge of stalking dismissed due to lack of prosecution.
Symeria Cook, 774 Cook Rd., Lambert, pleaded guilty to abuse of a vulnerable person and was fined $328.
Ladeja Small, 101 Tyndall Cove, pleaded guilty to simple assault fined $328.
