NP holds annual Red/Grey spring scrimmage game

In a scrimmage Saturday the North Panola Cougars did not have a long scrimmage but they did a lot of different plays that kept the crowd watching and everything was full speed.
The Cougars had their second annual Red-Grey game. On the first drive for the red squad, they ran the ball well with Latravious Jenkins getting the bulk of the carries. After a pass from senior quarterback Kenneth Jefferson on fourth down to Tony Davis who was tackled short, it was the white teams turn.
The grey squad was led by freshman quarterback Limekin Walls and senior running back Clarence Taylor. They got some good runs in but on fourth down they opted to punt the ball.
Things did not go the same for the red team. The next time they got the ball as they were the first team on the board. They started with a 17-yard completion from Jefferson to Carl Robinson. The next play was a big one as Jefferson hooked up with first-year player Mario Fenner on a 12-yard touchdown pass. After the two-point conversion, they led by eight.
It only took the grey team two plays to return the favor. After a three-yard run by Alex Gross, Walls scored on a 53-yard run. The two-point attempt failed but were only down by two.
Then the red team scored again with Carl Robinson under center on a 63-yard run. The two-point attempt failed again but they took the lead 14-6.
At quarterback Jefferson went 3-5 for 32 yards and a touchdown. Robinson led the rushing attack with a carry for 63 yards and a touchdown. Walls had four carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. Taylor had two carries for 13 yards. Jefferson had a carry for four yards. Jenkins and Mario Wilbourn each had a carry for two yards.
In receiving Fenner led with a catch for 12 yards and a touchdown and Davis had a catch for three yards.
The Cougars will travel to Ripley Friday to take on Delsca, Ala. in their spring game.
