Kelvin Marshall (left) presented Russell Covington with a $500 gift certificate to Batesville Gun and Pawn for winning the annual Big Buck Contest, co-sponsored by The Panolian. He took his 10-point on November 25. It had an inside spread of 20 inches, main beam length of 27 inches and a base circumference of 5.5 inches for a total of 62.50. He was hunting on land behind ACI on Highway 6 West when he came across the buck.
