Crowds of costumed kids flocked downtown Batesville for the Scare on the Square Saturday. Winners in the costume contest for children ages kindergarten and younger were (from left) jailbird Swayze Bailey and police officer Shannon Bailey, Cruella DeVille (Peyton Wieholsen) and Indian princess Winleigh Beard. Batesville’s Main Street program coordinated the event. Businesses and groups handed out treats around the Square.
