SPHS invites all freshmen

South Panola High School will host a Freshmen Academy for incoming freshman on July 28.
The day will serve as a learning opportunity for students, and parents, who are most certainly welcomed to attend, to tour the new ninth-grade wing and become acclimated with their daily schedule.
The Academy will last 90 minutes and will be held at three different times throughout the day: 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Those wishing to take part are encouraged to arrive on time at the SPHS cafeteria in order to not miss out on any pertinent information.
Ninth-grade Principal Jason Matthews, ninth-grade counselor Megan Love and several teachers will lead the tour of the new facility and will host a Q & A session to address any questions students or parents might need answered.
“We’ll cover everything from looking at the new building, to their daily schedule, to graduation requirements,” Matthews said. “We’re looking forward to meeting the inaugural class who will walk the halls of the new ninth-grade wing at South Panola High School.”
Students will also be given ample time to “walk the day” to learn where all their classes are before the first day of the start of the 2016-17 school year on Aug. 4.
