Bailey Haward

Bailey Harward, 15, of Floris, Iowa, arrived in Batesville Wednesday with her family to participate in National Bluetick Days at the Batesville Civic Center. Bailey plans to hunt with her seven-year-old Bluetick, Boss, and to show him in the bench show. The three-day event began Thursday night with a Bluetick-only hunt. Bench shows will be held at 5:30 this afternoon and on Saturday afternoon at 4 in the Civic Center arena. The public is invited. Hunters and hounds of seven UKC coonhound breeds will meet at the Civic Center Friday and Saturday nights around 8:30 and spread out over North Mississippi woods in search of coons. No guns are allowed and no coons are harmed. The competition tests the dogs’ ability to trail and tree the coons.
