SP JV ladies squeak by Tupelo

The South Panola Lady Tigers fastpitch softball team faced the Tupelo Golden Wave Tuesday night at the South Panola field with the junior varsity cutting it close with a win, 5-4.
Leadoff batter Haven Dulin hit a home-run to right field in bottom of the first for the 1-0 lead.
In the third inning, Darbi Smith walked the first batter. Another batter for the Golden Wave doubled to center field where Nautica Edwards threw the ball back to home plate getting the first out of the inning. A single to right allowed the Golden Wave to score their first run of the game.
In the bottom of the third, Dulin walked and a sacrifice by Tyler Hamby allowed Dulin to advance to second. After Kahlena Hentz is walked and Madison Morgan a base after being hit by a pitch, Smith singled to right center driving in Dulin and Hentz. Aubrianna Craven singled to short allowing Morgan to score.
The Golden Wave got in gear in the top of the fourth as two singles gave the Golden Wave two base runners. A double to left allowed one runner. The other two runners stole home scoring two more runs for the Lady Waveto tie the score 4-4.
In bottom of the fourth, Edwards beat out the throw to first on a bunt. Dulin’s single to left field drove Edwards in, giving the Lady Tigers the 5-4 win.
Dulin led on offense going 2-for-3, one home run, one walk, two runs and one RBI.
Other batters include: Garner, 1-for-1; Hentz, one walk, one run; Maci Kirkland, one hit by pitch; Morgan, one hit by pitch, one run; Darbi Smith 1-for-2, one walk; Craven 1-for-2; Nautica Edwards 2-for-2, one run.
