SP soccer splits matches at Oxford showcase

The South Panola soccer teams closed out their 2015 portion of its schedule by splitting a pair of matches Saturday at the Oxford Show Case.
Hannah Mitchell scored the lone goal as the Lady Tigers battled Byhalia to a 1-1 draw. Goalkeeper Rebekah Garner registered three saves. South Panola returned to the pitch later in the afternoon to drop a 5-0 decision to Pontotoc.
 In the boys matches, Steven Collins scored three goals while Jordan Tubbs added two more as South Panola blanked Byhalia 5-0. Collins, Noah Willis, Hunter Bryant and A. J. Norwood all registered assists. The Tigers fell to 6-7 on the season with a 4-0 loss to North Pontotoc. Ghreig Griffin recorded 11 saves against the Vikings.
South Panola returns to action January 5 at Grenada.
