BATESVILLE–James Douglas “J.D.” Henderson, 93, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at his residence.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge of arrangements. Pastor Jacob Hentz will officiate.

Burial will be in New Hope Church Cemetery.

Henderson, born April 19, 1922 in Panola County, to the late Walter Henderson and Addie Peak Henderson, was a retired truck driver for Panola County Beat 4 and a farmer. He was a member of New Hope M.B. Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survivors include: two sons, John Henderson of Milwaukee and James A. Henderson of Batesville; one daughter, Gearldine H. McFarling of Batesville; one sister, Mildred Patton of Memphis; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
