Judge Bill McKenzie referred two defendants to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court.

Monique R. McClinton, 200-D Lester St., Batesville, was bound over for possession of controlled substance with intent, child endangerment enhancement, proximity to school or church enhancement. Her bond was set at $75,000.

Dedrick Ivery, 200-D Lester, Batesville, was also referred to the grand jury for possession of controlled substance with intent, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, child endangerment enhancement, proximity to school or church enhancement. His bond was set at $75,000.

“I’d like to take full responsibility. She (McClinton) wasn’t even there,” he said.
“You need to talk to the detectives about that,” McKenzie replied.

The pair were arrested February 20 at the Skyview Apartments where Batesville police seized high grade marijuana, more than $1,000 in cash, a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition.

The child endangerment charge came because there was a small child in the apartment when the gun was found on a dresser. The apartment complex is located near First United Methodist Church and several other churches, resulting in the enhancement of the charges.
Ivery also had old fines of $2,197 due since August 2014.

McKenzie told Ivery he couldn’t make bond until he paid his old fines in full.
He was referred to the grand jury.

Michael D. Wright, 105-B Patton Lane, Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for public drunk and old fines of $647 that have been due since December 14.

Mandarius L. Armstead, 4238 Curtis Rd., Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for simple possession of controlled substance.

Chadrick E. Rudd, 236-B MLK Jr., Batesville, entered guilty pleas to possession of marijuana in vehicle, improper equipment and driving while license suspended. He was fined $1,219.
Michael C. Chambers, 113 CR 139, Abbeville, paid a cash bond of $225 prior to court for public drunk.

Dustin Auttonberry, 222 Lynette Dr., West Monroe, La., failed to appear to answer public drunk charges.

Ashley Robinson, 112 Hemlock, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to public drunk at Loves on February 2. He was fined $225.

Tanya Potter, 112 Hemlock, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to public drunk at Loves. She was fined $225.

Larry Hinton, 2132-A Goodhope Rd., Batesville, paid $225 in full prior to court for public drunk.
Chelsea Hentz, 10128 Hwy. 51, Courtland, had a charge for simple assault dismissed after the affiant, Patrice Coppage failed to appear to prosecute.

Hentz entered a not guilty plea to running a red light. A trial was set for March 25.
Timothy Hall, 510 Green St., Pope, was fined $328 for simple assault.

Shirley Coffey, 117 Williams St., Batesville, had a trial set for a later date for false pretenses.
Lowethia Wells, 535 Womack St., Lambert, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting from Walmart. She was fined $1,146.

Jasmine Middleton, 815 1st St., Marks, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting from Walmart. She was fined $1,146.

Kala Lester, 263 Blanche T., Jonestown, failed to appear to answer shoplifting charges from Walmart. Alright Bonding was notified.

Heather Emery, 522 Spravatti, Lambert, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting car decals, shoes, fingernails and other items worth $85.31 from Walmart. She was fined $1,146.

Michael Ross, 114 Mattews Dr., Senatobia, had a case for domestic violence-simple assault and petit larceny dismissed after the affiant, Nellie Willoughby, withdrew the charges.
