Football contest results delayed because of tiebreaker game delay

This has never happened before. Results for last week’s football contest are delayed because of the tie breaker game.

North Delta and Lee were almost finished when the game was delayed by the storm that moved through the area Friday night.

With 11:17 left in the fourth quarter, North Delta held a 27-23 lead and Lee had the ball on third down.

The weather delay was called about 9 or 9:15 p.m. Officials thought they would be able to resume play about 10:30 p.m. but another front moved through and at 10:20 p.m. they announced the game would not continue Friday night.

The first place winner in the contest this week did not have an opponent but eight people are vying for the second and third places.

The game between North Delta and Lee will be finished Monday, October 20. Football contest winners will be announced online at www.panolian.com Tuesday morning and in the Friday, October 24 printed edition.
