The Tigers take up where they left off losing the north half championship to Tupelo 12-3 but start the 2014 season ready to return to their roots where 10 state championships have been won.

Leading the Mississippi Gridiron’s No. 2 team in the state is Tyler Pogue with lots of talent to help him. Darrell Henderson who was named to the 2014 Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen list, brings tremendous speed to the backfield and  makes him probably the most explosive running back in the state. He rushed for over 2,000 yards last year.

At the Batesville Rotary Club meeting Tuesday, Head Coach Lance Pogue revealed backup quarterback in – Henderson’s repertoire of positions.

Head coach Lance Pogue said it will be good for the team to go up against someone else before the season starts the following week.

Oxford will bring with them the No. 1 junior wide out in the nation with D. K. Metcalf who has verbally committed to Ole Miss. ESPN has him ranked No. 37 overall prospect in the 2016 class.

Head coach Johnny Hill surprised the Chargers by taking them to Malco’s Oxford Commons on Monday morning so they could watch what their last game in 2013 looked like on the big screen. The Chargers fell to Picayune 43-35 after entering the fourth quarter with a 35-21 lead.
