Peggy White Billingsley
LOOXAHOMA–Peggy White Billingsley, 67, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was the mother of Kandy Billingsley of Sardis.

Services were held Friday at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was in Looxahoma Crossroads Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge.

Billingsley was a retired beautician and former Memphis Policewoman and medical assistant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Billingsley and grandson, Jerry Price III.
Survivors along with her daughter include: one son, Russell Billingsley III of Senatobia; sister, Jewel Dean White of Rock, West Virginia and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Judith Eileen McCollough Davis
WATER VALLEY–Judith “Judy” Eileen McCollough Davis, 75, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. She was the mother of Margaret Bratcher of Batesville.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 10:00 am until 12:00 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Services will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. David Freeman officiating.  Burial will be in the Camp Ground Cemetery in Lafayette County.

 She was born July 23, 1938 in Westmoreland County, PA to the late Augustus Henlen and Helena Thompson McCollough.  Judy was a Lutheran and served two years in the United States Army.  After 27 years of service, she retired from Borg-Warner in Water Valley. 

 She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Davis Jr.

Survivors along with her daughter include: her husband, Ernest Davis of Water Valley; daughters, Dale Davis of Water Valley and Deana Jenkins of Hernando; three sisters, Kathi Miller of Suffolk, Va., Donna Bradley of New Kensington, Pa. and Trudy Raub of Mt. Home, ID; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Danny “Pop” File
POPE–Danny “Pop” File, 62, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at his residence.

Services were held Friday in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clay Baker officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

File born, Oct. 1, 1951, to the late Keith Dale and Willine Bolton File in Panola County, was a member of the 1970 South Panola graduating class and in the fall of that year, he went on to Northwest Jr. College. 

After a year at NW, he joined the U.S. Army National Guard, and after serving 22 years with the Guard, he retired as a sergeant in 1994.  He refined his cooking skills while in the Guard, as he worked as a chef for many years.
 
In 1971,  Mr. File went to work for The Mississippi State Highway Department in the Project Office in Batesville.  He worked in the field with survey crews for many of those years.  After he had walked many a mile with the ‘crew’,  he became a highly respected inspector with MDOT, focusing on working with the asphalt contractors all over the northern district of Mississippi.  
In 2007, he retired from MDOT after serving 33 years.  He was of the Methodist faith.  In his younger years, he was a bass singer with a group called “Faith.”

Survivors include: his wife of nearly 42 years, Martha “Sid” Brewer File of Pope; two daughters, Chesley File Watson (T.R.) of Oxford and Danielle File Moore (Bradley) of Batesville; one brother, Edward File (Sandra) of Atlanta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Eileen Nelson File of Pope and four grandchildren-Micah Higgins, Luke Higgins, Caitlin Moore and Drake Watson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Don File.
