Michael Wayne Goforth, age 35, passed away Sunday at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Funeral services at Wells Funeral Home are set or Thursday at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends beginning Thursday at 11 a.m.

Authorities said Goforth, a state inmate, had attempted to hang himself in a cell.

He was found about 3 p.m. January 7 and transported to the Med.
