Batesville police said Thursday an alleged prowler who was arrested early Tuesday morning was not the same person who fled from another home hours earlier.
BPD Patrolman Cole Hubbard arrested Terry Callicutt, of Sardis, on Bates Street and charged him with public intoxication, said BPD Deputy Chief Don Province.
Province said police had investigated a “prowler” call approximately four hours earlier, on Lomax Street.
A family member at the Lomax home, shown a mug shot of Callicut, told police he was not the same man who entered the home Monday night.
A BPD dispatcher took a “prowler” call Monday night, Dec. 3, at 7:27 p.m., from the home on Lomax.
A call from Bates Street to police at 12:10 a.m. also described a black male in front of the home, Province said.
Province said a family member at the Lomax home told police she was walking from the rear of the house to the kitchen and saw someone standing in the living room, who ran out the door.
The Lomax resident posted the incident on Facebook. She said the man had entered her home “as if he owned it” and warned neighbors to keep their doors locked.
