North Panola pulls off big win


Panola County teams did another clean sweep of opponents Friday night, October 5.

North Panola knocked off the Winona Tigers in a defensive battle 12-7 in Sardis. The Cougar defense was not to breeched except by one play which allowed Winona a 63-yard run early in the third quarter.

A run from Cougar quarterback Willie Hibbler and a pass from Hibbler to Lucius Walls gave the Cougars the victory.
Both touchdowns were scored within the last 38 seconds of the second quarter. Hibbler scored on a 43-yard run with 38 seconds left in the first half while Walls scored at the buzzer.

Next week, the Cougars will host Charleston at 7 p.m.

South Panola
South Panola revamped at the half to take a 24-14 win over visiting Columbus. The score was tied at 7 at the half.
Next Friday, South Panola travels to Tupelo for a district showdown at 7 p.m.

North Delta
North Delta had very little trouble from Lee, Ark. as they walked away with a  41-12 win on the road. The Green Wave will be on the road again next week at Carroll Academy for a district matchup at 7 p.m.
