Angler of the Year

The Oxford Bass Club recently completed its year-end competition with its annual Classic held on Sardis Lake, September 22 and 23.
The club is made up of anglers from the surrounding counties of Tate, Pontotoc, Panola, Yalobusha, Marshall, Union and Tippah counties, as well as Lafayette and the Oxford area.
Thirty-four teams (boats) make up the Oxford Bass Club that compete each year in six tournaments for Angler of Year, Big fish of Year, and to qualify for the Annual Classic.
This year’s Angler Of The Year was captured by the father and son team of Greg Garrett and son Hunter Garrett of Sardis. The Big Fish competition was also captured by the team of Garrett & Garrett at 7.12 pounds.
The 2012 Classic winners this year are as follows:
1st Place- Simmons/Simmons with 28.80 pounds
2nd Place-Briscoe/Briscoe with 23.44 pounds
3rd Place-Perking/Ellis with 21.68 pounds
4th Place-Myers/DeFranco with 20.81 pounds.
