The NFL draft was held this weekend and Jemarcus “Yoshi” Hardrick got a shot to showcase his talent in the NFL. He did not get drafted or picked up as a free agent but he did receive a couple of rookie camp invitations.
“I got invited to Tampa Bay Buccaneer rookie mini camp and they said there’s a good chance they will sign me!! But if they don’t sign me I also got invited to saints rookie camp two weeks later,” Hardrick said.
Hardrick graduated from South Panola in 2008 and played two years with Ft. Scott Jr. College in Kentucky and his last two years with the Nebraska Cornhuskers as an offensive lineman.
If things work out, Hardrick will join other Panola Countians in the NFL; Jamarcus Sanford, Minnesota Vikings, Peria Jerry, Atlanta Falcons and John Jerry, Miami Dolphins.
Deshea Townsend, former Pittsburg Steeler, is now a defensive back assistant coach with the Arizona Cardinals.
