Memphis pastor will speak on MLK Day


Dr. Frank Ray Sr. will be the speaker for the 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance in Batesville on Monday, January 16. Ray will speak at Batesville Intermediate School at 11 a.m. at the culmination of the annual King Day March.

Dr. Ray is pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis where he has served for 40 years and directs “God is Good Ministries.”  Ray’s television and radio ministry programs are broadcast around the world. A native of Tennessee, Dr. Ray received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA. He currently serves as the national lecturer for the National Baptist Convention USA.

Local activities planned for next weekend include a basketball tournament, a business expo, a musical program, the commemorative march from Mt. Zion Church and the program with Dr. Kay.
