Batesville retailers and other businesses on the Downtown Square and around town will open their doors on Sunday for a traditional Holiday Open House, an annual event to usher in the Christmas season.

Shoppers can admire festive decorations and get a jump-start on Christmas shopping while all the shelves are laden with season-opening supplies of merchandise.

In addition  to visiting retailers, guests can browse the Christmas Bazaar in several locations around the Square, with vendors offering home decor items, baked goods, books, jewelry and more. The Christmas Bazaar is open Saturday from 10-4 and on Sunday from 1-5.

Also on Sunday Batesville Main Street will offer carriage rides, pictures with Santa and Santa’s Workshop, a free area for children.
