ND set for homecoming tonight against Lee, Ark.

The North Delta Green Wave will put its brand new No. 5 state ranking on the line  as they celebrate homecoming by facing off against  Lee, Ark. tonight in a 7:30 kickoff.

North Delta (6-1) is coming off an impressive 44-32 victory over district foe Marshall last Friday. Taylor Morris ran for 205 yards and had touchdown runs of 71,58 and one yard as the Wave rushed for 313 yards.

Quarterback Tyler Pirtle accounted for 250 all-purpose yards including 150 yards passing to go along with 19 rushes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. The junior also registered six tackles on defense.

Sy Pritchard leads the North Delta defense along with linebacker Parker Jones. Blake Snyder, Hunter Pitcher, Kyle Devazier and Bradley Booth anchor the defensive front the Wave.

Pritchard led North Delta with eight tackles and a fumble recovery in  the victory over Marshall. Luke Latham intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter that halted a late Patriot drive.

Lee, meanwhile, heads into tonight’s contest sporting a 2-4 record. After opening the season with wins over Southwest Christian Academy (38-0) and Tallulah, (La.) 28-7, the Cougars have dropped their last four games including a 30-12 district setback to Deer Creek last Friday. The other three losses have been to Tunica 39-0, Desoto, Ark. 16-14 and Greenville Christian 41-8.

Lee is led by senior signal-caller Matt Jumper who has 41 rushes for 237 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Junior running back/linebacker Jacob Simmons leads the team in rushing with 49 carries for 392 yards and four touchdowns.

Simmons also leads the Cougars on defense with 41 tackles. Linebacker Tyler Kitchens is second on the squad with 25 tackles and two fumble recoveries.
At halftime, the queen will be crowned.
