The statement made by Mr. McMinn in Tuesday’s paper (“Commissioner seeks state answers on voter helpers,” August 16) concerning the Democratic Executive Committee selecting the poll managers at each precinct is incorrect. The election commissioners selected the managers.

The Democratic manager selected by an election commissioner to work at the Curtis precinct was switched by Mr. McMinn to work as a Republican manager.

When I spoke to him concerning the switch, he said that the manager would either work as a Republican manager or as a regular poll worker for the Democrats, which she did.

I have served on the Democratic Executive Committee from District Two since the two Democratic parties merged in the early ‘70s.
