ND claims district champs in girls singles and mixed doubles

Monday’s tennis match against Marshall marked North Delta’s final match of the regular match. Jordan Pointer finished the regular season with one loss at No. 1 girls singles.

Maggie Williams and Bryan “B” Nickle went undefeated at mixed doubles.

North Delta participated at the District tournament held at Kirk Academy Tuesday.

Pointer won the District Championship at No. girls 1 Singles. Williams and Nickle won the District Championship at mixed doubles.  Sarah Glenn Burkhalter and Madison Greenlee lost in the championship game and placed second in No. 2 girls doubles.  Bradi Beard and Hannah Greenlee lost in the championship game and placed second in No. 1 girls doubles.

The girls tied with Kirk Academy in points for the overall girl’s championship trophy but lost to Kirk by a half point in the tiebreaker system which counts championships won.

The North Half match will played at Ridgeland Tennis Center on Wednesday, April 27.  The district champion and runner-up in each event qualify for North Half.  North Delta qualified for No. 1 girls singles, No. 1 and No. 2 Girls Doubles and mixed doubles.
