Snow that began with a mixture of sleet about 2:15 p.m. Sunday has closed all Panola County schools — South Panola, North Panola and North Delta — and forced cancellations for many other activities scheduled for Monday.

Law enforcement and emergency officials are urging motorists to undertake no unnecessary travel. Snow is forecast to continue through Sunday night and Monday.
