James Franklin Aldridge

MARKS—James Franklin Aldridge, 69, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Quitman County Hospital. He was the father of William Aldridge of Courtland.

Services were Thursday at West Marks Baptist Church. Burial was in Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.

Aldridge, born Aug. 18, 1940, was a retired mechanic and service manager for Delta Auto.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Wesley Aldridge and two daughters, Terrye Lynn and Elizabeth Ann Alridge.

Survivors along with his son include: his wife, Louise Cody Aldridge; one daughter, Tracy Louise Aldridge Parsons of Hernando; two sisters, Margie McArthur of Darling and Maxine Bell of Marks and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, West Marks Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Harry Davison

SARDIS—Harry Davison, 54, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at his residence.

Services were Saturday at North Panola High School Auditorium. Burial was in McIvor Church Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

He was a history teacher at North Panola High School and a retired Air Force veteran.

Survivors include: his wife, Rhonda G. Davison; one son, Mark Christopher Davison of Sardis; five sisters, Stella M. Jones of Memphis, Rosie Pride of  Detroit, Mich., Margaret Morgan and Barbara Armstrong both of Sardis and Willie Mae Johnson of Las Vegas; seven brothers, Willie E. Davison of Memphis, Jimmy Davison of Eutaw, Ala., Fred Davison, Larry Davison and Lamar Davison, all of Sardis, Tommy Davison and Marvin Davison, both of Detroit and one grandchild.

James Leonard Drake Jr.

GREENVILLE—James Leonard Drake, 35, formerly of Batesville, died, Tuesday, May 4, at University Medical Center in Jackson after a battle with cancer.

Services will be Friday at Mortimer Funeral Home in Greenville with visitation 11 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m.

Drake was a musician and lead guitarist for the band Asphalt/Supernormal.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jean Stuart.

Survivors include: his wife, Alecia R. Drake of Boyle; his father, James L. Drake Sr. of Greenville/Bruce; a brother, David Gilbert of Greenville; and a sister, Wanda Floyd of Greenville.

Danny Miles

COURTLAND—Danny Miles, 44, died Thursday, April 22, 2010.

Services were Friday at Antioch M.B. Church in Courtland. Rev. Christopher Townsend Sr. officiated.

He attended Pope Elementary School and South Panola High School.

He worked for the Panola County Co-op and Poston Tire Service.
