ND tennis players advance to North Half next week

North Delta finished the regular tennis season at Marshall Academy April 19.

Tuesday, the tennis team played in the AA District Tournament at Kirk Academy. The North Delta team finished the season with a 5-3 district record, second place behind Kirk Academy.

Placing first in the district tournament and moving on to North Half Wednesday, April 28 in Cleveland are, Jordan Pointer, No. 1 girls singles; mixed doubles team of Bryan Nickle and Elizabeth Burkhalter; and No. 2 boys doubles team of Ty Ferguson and Chris Reeves.

Runners up, who also advanced to North Half are No. 2 boys singles, John Cody Dalrymple and No. 1 girls doubles team Bradi Beard and Hanna Greenlee.

In Boys Singles, North Delta’s Ethan Frink lost to Kendall Harris 6-4, 6-4. Frink’s record for season is 3-3.

North Delta’s John Cody Dalrymple beat Kevin Harris 6-1 6-3. Dalrymple’s record for season is 2-3.

In Girls Singles, Jordan Pointer (ND) won over Ashika Bhakta 6-1, 6-2.

Pointer finished the regular season at 7-1.

Maggie Williams won a forfeit, 6-0 6-0. Williams finished the season at 4-4.

In Boys Doubles action, North Delta’s Conor Ferguson/Luke Williams team lost to John Tomlinson/Chase Ferrell 4-6 6-4 (10-8). Williams/Ferguson finished 1-4 for the season.

Chris Reeves/Ty Ferguson won 6-0 6-0 in a forfeit. Reeves/Ferguson finished the season at 6-1.

North Delta Girls Doubles team of Bradi Beard/Hanna Greenlee beat Lauralee Fant/Claire Liddy 4-6, 6-1, (10-2). Beard/Greenlee finished at 4-4.

North Delta’s Sara Glenn Burkhalter/Samantha Massoth team lost to Emma Elgin/Emily Burk 6-4, 6-3. Burkhalter/Massoth finished the season 1-4.

The Mixed Doubles team of Bryan Nickle/Elizabeth Burkhalter won over Kent Feathers/Anna Summers 6-0, 6-1 and finished the season undefeated at 7-0.
