 Nancy Sue Evans

OAKLAND— Nancy Sue Evans, 58, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at her residence with her daughters and parents by her side.

Services were Sunday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Clay Baker officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Evans, born March 19, 1951, to Sam P. and Kathleen Lewis Evans of Munford, Tenn., worked for Paul’s Tile Company in Memphis with 25 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and working in her flower beds.

Survivors along with her parents include; her daughters, Neely Barton and her husband, Andy of Oakland, Nicole Catt and her husband Doug of Fulton and Lizzy Setchfield and her husband Mathew of Oakland; one sister, Kathy Whitten and her husband, Whit of Munford; one brother, Sam L. Evans and his wife, Becky of Bartlett, Tenn.; and five grandchildren, Lauren Catt, Brody Catt, Taylor Barton, Drake Barton and Madison Williams.

Kenneth Galmore

MILWAUKEE, Wis.— Kenneth Galmore, 39, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Regional Medical Center, from injuries received from riding a recreational vehicle after attending his father’s funeral.

Services were Saturday at New Hope M.B. Church. Serenity Funeral Home had charge.

Galmore, born Oct. 9, 1970, to the late Daisy Galmore and Roosevelt Galmore, was a cargiver in Home Health Care.

His daughter, Daija Galmore also died from the accident.

Survivors include: his children, Kenneth Galmore Jr., Kentrell Galmore II and Kaiola Galmore, all of Milwaukee; his step-mother, Martha Galmore of Batesville; two sisters, Alexandra Galmore of Milwaukee and Ebony Galmore of Batesville. And two brothers Jaylon Galmore and Marlon Logan of Batesville.

Jimmy Griffin

Jimmy Durelle Griffin, age 70 of 219 Turtle Creek Drive of Batesville, MS, husband of June Yochim Griffin, died Monday Morning 3/15/2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi, Oxford, MS.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Sam Messina officiating. Interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park with full Military Honors. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. with 4th Degree Knights of Columbus as Honor Guard.

Mr. Griffin was born in Tifton, GA to the late James Oscar & Mildred Reese Griffin. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a retire U. S. Air Force Pilot having served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret June Yochim Griffin of Batesville, MS; daughters, Sheila Griffin Brown of Batesville, MS; and Reese Griffin Jenkins of Batesville, MS; son, James Damian “Dane” Griffin of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Jeri Ann Griffin Hanna of Shell Point, FL; 3 grandchildren, Allie Ross Sergi, Jamie Elizabeth Brown and Keifer Austin Jenkins; 2 great grandchildren, Phillip Bryan Sergi III and Preston Blake Sergi.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 120 Highway 35 North, Batesville, MS 38606.

Evelyn Ruth Pagan Myer

BATESVILLE— Evelyn Ruth Pagan Myer, 97, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Monday at Memorial Park in Memphis. Rev. Chad Phelan officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Myer, born Sept. 20, 1912, in McKinney, Texas, was a member of Raleigh Presbyterian Church in Memphis where she was an elder. She was a retired bookkeeper.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Baker Glover of Crenshaw; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
