The Lady Green Wave wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as they plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first off Delta starting pitcher Maranda Cuff.

Hillari Plummer got things started with a single that led to four straight hits as Linsey  Hebert, Vicky Johnson and Bradi Beard also followed with singles.

That turned out to be more than enough run support for Samantha Massoth as the Belhaven signee spun a complete game four-hitter. The senior left-hander scattered four hits over six innings while walking one and fanning two batters.

North Delta (6-3) tacked on four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to put the game away. Laci DuBravec led off the fourth with a sharp single past third. After Mary Jane Morrow was hit by pitch, Lauren Kimsey slapped a single up the middle to score DuBravec.

Two batters later, Plummer added her second of three hits on the day with a bunt single to load the bases with no outs. Cuff then almost got out of the inning with no further damage  as Hebert popped into a double play only to have Johnson rope a RBI single to chase home Plummer for a 6-0 Wave lead.

Delta, (2-3) scored their only run when leadoff batter Morgan Shook led off the fifth in a single and later scored on a fielders’ choice off the bat of Bailey St. John.

The Raiders threatened  later in the inning as St. John stood on second with two outs, Nicole Cook hit a bouncer up the middle only to have Plummer make an outstanding diving stop and throw to first base just in time to retire Cook for the third out.

North Delta then plated four runs after two were out in the bottom of the fifth for the final tally. Kimsey’s RBI double and Hebert’s two-run single were  key hits in the inning. The Lady Green Wave registered 13 hits on the day with Plummer leading the way with three hits and three runs scored.

Hebert, Johnson, Beard and Kimsey  followed with two hits each while Julianna Morrow added a pinch-hit single in the fifth.

North Delta was also victorious in the JV contest by the score 7-0 in three innings.

The Green Wave exploded for six runs on three hits in the bottom of the second to win going away. Anna Lloyd’s bases-clearing double keyed the rally while Hanna Heafner added a RBI bunt single to drive in another run.

Peyton Rico pitched the first two innings in the circle while Grayson Sims  finished out the game by striking out the last two batters in the third.
