Diamond ball games rescheduled

The rain Thursday through Saturday caused the cancellation and postponement of several diamond ball contests.

South Panola Fastpitch

The Friday district game for the South Panola fastpitch team has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 7 in Starkville at 5 and 6 p.m.

Thursday’s game with Southaven that was rescheduled for Saturday will be played Monday, April 6 at 5 and 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, the Lady Tigers will participate in the Clarkdale Tournament, near Meridian.

Friday, they will play Northwest Rankin at 4:30 p.m., followed by Newton County at 7:30 p.m. Saturday morning at 10:30 they will face East Central. Their stint at the tournament will end with a 1:30 p.m. game against Poplarville.

North Delta

North Delta will play the makeup district game against Desoto on April 2, making that a doubleheader day.

South Panola Baseball

The South Panola boys baseball team has rescheduled the district game with Tupelo until Thursday, April 18 at South Panola.

The Tiger baseball team is in Jackson to play in the Madison Central Tournament this week. They played yesterday and will play today at 3 p.m. and tomorrow at 10 a.m. Due to rain that was moving through the area, game times may be adjusted, according to head coach Patrick Robey.

The South Panola ninth grade baseball team will play in the Cleveland Tournament Thursday and Friday.

The ninth grade will host Tupelo Monday in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. The varsity will return to action at home Tuesday to host Columbus in district action at 5 and 7 p.m.
