Batesville Police Department officers made three arrests during a weekend of light activity, according to incident reports.

James Beavers was arrested Saturday, Feb. 14, for creating a disturbance at 219 Vance Street.

Beavers was charged with disorderly conduct after police arrived and “asked him several times to calm down and talk to me, but he refused and continued to use profanity out loud and towards myself and the other officers as well,” BPD Lt. Billy Sossaman’s report stated.

Linda Swain, 6525 Highway 6, Marks, was arrested on Lakewood Drive and charged with a first driving under the influence offense, careless driving and possession of an open alcohol container in her vehicle, Patrolman Donnie Dotson’s report stated.

George Willie Morning Jr., 231 Martin Luther King Dr., was charged with driving under the influence when he drove through a safety checkpoint at 300 Airport Road, Patrolman Jon Summerville’s report states.
