The South Panola ninth grade basketball team ended their season with an 8-3 overall record after defeating Lake Cormorant 28-19 on the road Tuesday.
According to Head Coach Brent Roberts, the team played better than they had in the last few weeks. “It was good to end the season like this. The 8-3 record was a lot better than what we had expected this year.”
Scoring for the Tigers was B. J. Tate with 12 points. Roberts said Tate had a real good night up around the basket.
Also scoring was Troy Collins with seven and James Watson with five.
The South Panola Lady Tigers Junior Varsity team came home with a 40-26 victory.
Head Coach Ralph Stallings took only the young players and left the starters at home. Stallings was pleased with the team’s performance.
“They did good. We played two halves with a running clock so we could get finished early due to the weather.”
Scoring was Turkessa Burgess 12, Dorian Winfield 8, Jasmine Sims 7, Christa Brown 5, Jasmon Houston 4, and Brittany Moore 4.
The South Panola Junior Varsity Tiger basketball team fell by sixpoints on Tuesday night.
