Polls are open today for a run-off election to fill a seat on the North Panola School Board.

Incumbent Lydia Smith faces challenger Patsy Jackson.

The post represents residents of portions of West Sardis, East Sardis, South Sardis, and Pleasant Mount.

Neither Smith nor Jackson received a majority in the November 3 election when John Clark Hudson was eliminated from the race.

Smith was appointed to serve the unexpired term of Billy Russell, who resigned earlier this year, until an election could be held.
