Friday Night HIghlights

SP survives Tupelo; ND survives Tupelo Christian; NP does not play 4th quarter

It is not even Halloween and stranger things have never happened in Panola County football. More than records were on the line.

South Panola
South Panola preserved its longest active win streak with a 14-13 win over Tupelo. The win came thanks in part for a missed two-point conversion with just under two minutes left in the game. The Tigers have won their 83rd straight game.

Draylon Sanford had the on-time hit to knock the ball away in the endzone. Kendrick Market knocked the ball out-of-bound.

North Delta
North Delta was down at halftime 21-10 to Tupelo Christian in homecoming. Neither team scored in the third quarter but the Green Wave staged a fourth quarter run which gave them a 31-28 non-conference win.

North Panola
North Panola did not have to play the fourth quarter in order to defeat Independence 30-25. With 2:05 left in the third quarter, the officials called the game after Independence head coach Kevin Edge was ejected from the game and would not leave the stadium.

As the officials left the game, Edge and the entire Wildcat team charged the officials but security and some assistant coaches turned the group back before any contact was  made.

North Panola is now 4-0 in district.
