WINONA– Erlene Wood Shook, 88, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at River Oaks Hospital in Winona. Mrs. Shook was the mother of former Batesville resident Jan Shook, now of Pass Christian.

Services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Winona. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.  Lee Funeral Home in Winona had charge.

Mrs. Shook was the last survivor of thirteen children born to the late Luke M. and Willie Wood.  She was the widow of the late S. T. Shook Jr.  She was a homemaker, a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and a member of First Baptist Church in Winona.  

She was preceded in death by a son, John Shook, and a grandson, Jacob Fowler.

Survivors in addition to her daughter include her son, Sam Waldrup of Heber Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
