Donald M. “Little Don” Brister
HERNANDO– Donald M. “Little Don” Brister, 60, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his residence.

Services were Thursday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery. Rev. Maurice Pinkston officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Brister, born Oct. 20, 1947, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Hernando. He was a welder and electrician and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Mae Bright-Gray; his father, Donald C. Brister; one sister, Barbara Sue Brister; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Brister.

Survivors include: three sisters, Frances Gray Riley and husband Paul of Eudora, Sherry Gray Holder of Batesville and Deborah Jane Gray of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers, David Wayne Brister and wife Judy of Batesville, Charlie “Bubba” Gray of Olive Branch and Ricky Gray of Batesville; his step-mother, Fay Brister of Batesville; one aunt, Ann Brister Williams and husband Hardin of Batesville; one uncle, J.W. “Bud” Bright and wife Mary of Batesville and his caregiver, Brenda Biggs.


Ester D. Cole
BATESVILLE– Ester D. Cole, 85, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at her residence.

Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Springhill Asa M.B. Church. Rev. Louis Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is today 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Cole, born July 20, 1922, in Rolling Fork to the late William Durkins and the late Mary Smith, was a homemaker and a member of Springhill Asa M.B. Church.

Survivors include: her niece who cared for her, Novaline Durkins of Chicago, and one sister, Alveria Eason of Chicago.


James Wilbourn Coleman Jr.
LAMBERT– James Wilbourn Coleman Jr., 52, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at his residence.

Memorial services are today at 2 p.m. at Blue Lake Baptist Church. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.

Coleman, born June 26, 1956, in Marks, was a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, James Robert Coleman of Pontotoc; four daughters, Dee Dee Coleman, Mickie Lynn Coleman, Stephanie Coleman Lawson of Sardis and Amanda Coleman; two brothers, Robert Liston and Bob Liston, both of Lambert; one sister, Candy Liston of Coldwater and eight grandchildren.


Patricia Ann Harris Little
SARDIS– Patricia Ann Harris Little, 59, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at her residence.

Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Viney Creek M.B. Church. Rev. Walter L. Nash will officiate. Henderson Funeral Home has charge.

Little, born July 30, 1948, to the late Marvin Abraham  Harris and Mattie Pearl Hentz Harris, was a member of Viney Creek M.B. Church in Sardis. She attended school at the North Panola School District and attended Jackson State University and the University of Mississippi. She was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated since her induction at Alcorn State University. She worked for the city of Chicago until retirement.

Survivors include: her husband, Mercer Little of Chicago; one son, Michael V. Fosster of Des Moines, Iowa; seven brothers, Harry Harris of Horn Lake, Marvin Harris, Arnold Harris of Memphis, James Harris of Sardis, Vann Harris of Woodridge, Ill., Henry Harris of Southfield, Mich. and Jerry Harris of Palo Alto, Calif.; one sister, Montee Johnson of Memphis and two grandchildren.


Jerry Lynn “Frog” Raines
BATESVILLE– Jerry Lynn “Frog” Raines, 46, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, in Jackson.

Services were Wednesday at Coleman Funeral Home. Damon Plummer officiated. Burial was in Tula Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home had charge.

Raines lived in the Oxford area for six years where he was employed in the construction business. He attended Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope.

Survivors include: his wife, Reba M. Raines of Oxford; five sons, Terry Lynn Raines and Glenn Raines, both of Pope, Josh Smith, Justin Gordon and Cody Gordon, all of Oxford; his mother, Martha J. Norwood of Oxford; three sisters, Reba Hamblin of Courtland, Donna Mason of Tula and Janet Moorman of Oxford; three brothers, Mitchell Wayne Raines of Batesville, Joe Glenn Raines and Jake Norwood, both of Oxford and five grandchildren.

James “Dickie” Tillmon
COMO– James “Dickie” Tillmon, 61, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at his residence.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cistern Hill M.B. Church in Como. Burial will be in Cistern Hill Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge.

Survivors include: one daughter, Angela Rouse of Chicago; two sons, Michael Garrett of Denver, Colo. and James Tillmon Jr. of Los Angeles; seven brothers, Larry Frank, Alla Frank, Charles Frank and Victor Frank, all of Memphis, Leon Tillmon of Chicago, Ricky Frank and Herman Tillmon Jr.; six sisters, Patricia Frank and Chiquita Frank, both of Memphis, Geraldine Tillmon of Bruce, Robin Green, Shirley Tillmon of Indiana and Joann Tillmon of Chicago and three grandchildren.
