Taylor Hunt Maddux Jr.
OXFORD– Taylor Hunt Maddux Jr., 57, formerly of Batesville, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at his residence.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church with Rev. Claire Dobbs and Rev. Frank Poole officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. in Wesley Hall at Oxford-University Church. Waller Funeral Home has charge.
Taylor, born to the late Hilda and Taylor Maddux, was a graduate of South Panola High School and graduated with a degree in Forestry from Mississippi State University in 1973. He was a retired federal employee, having completed his service with the Farm Service Agency. He was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir.
Survivors include: one son, Taylor Hunt Maddux III of Oxford; one daughter, Elizabeth Thomas of Fairhope, Ala.; two sisters, Carolyn Maddux Anderson of Southaven and Genean Maddux Davant of Jackson; and two grandchildren.

Linder “Pop” VanBuren McCullar
COURTLAND– Linder “Pop” VanBuren McCullar, 80, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at his residence in Courtland.
Services were Wednesday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
McCullar, born April 22, 1928, to the late Voloney Linder McCullar and the late Velma Lottie Doty, was a truck driver and a retired U.S. Navy and Army veteran.
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Ann Burchfield of Batesville and Rebecca Jean Hurt of Coldwater; one sister, Maxine Meredith of Hernando; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Wesley Lawrence McCullar
LAMBERT– Wesley Lawrence McCullar, 13, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
Services were Wednesday at Kimbro Funeral Home. Burial was in Lambert Cemetery. Rev. Larry Kilgore officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
McCullar was born Aug. 30, 1994, to Paul McCullar and Janice McCullar of Lambert. He was a student at Batesville Jr. High and a member of the band. He also played soccer in the Batesville City League. He was baptized at Rosehill Baptist Church in Batesville and attended Bethany Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Estelle Davis and his great-grandfather, Robert Hendrix.
Survivors along with his parents include: one brother, Chris Boland of Oxford; one sister, Emily McCullar of Lambert; his grandmother, Kay Williams of Batesville; his great-grandmother, Dorothy Hendrix of Batesville and his great-great-grandmother, Vera Williams of Crowder.
Noah Ray Millner Sr.
BATESVILLE– Noah Ray Millner Sr. died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Golden Living Center.

Amanda Wilson-Bobo Sanders
OXFORD– Amanda Wilson-Bobo Sanders, 33, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at her residence.
Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. Odell Draper will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s. Hodges-Serenity Funeral Home has charge.
Survivors include: her husband, Antonio Sanders of Memphis; her mother, Mary Wilson of Sardis; her father, Joe Louis Bobo of Chicago; four sisters, Vernesser Wilson of Sardis, Diane Harris of Louisville, Ky., Sylvia Chamberlain of Cahokia, Ill. and Sara Bobo of New Orleans, and four brothers, Ronnie Wilson of Memphis, Willie Joe Bobo of Sardis, Sammie Bobo of Senatobia and Danny Bobo of Jacksonville, Fla.
Betty Ann Siltman Pratt
BATESVILLE– Betty Ann Siltman Pratt, 67, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at her residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville with entombment in Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Paul Middleton, Dr. David Ball and Rev. Roger Richards will officiate. Visitation will be today from 5 – 8 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Pratt, born June 29, 1940, to the late Raymond L. Siltman and the late Martha Halliburton Siltman in Chicago, was a retired Insurance Agent. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church choir, Explorers Bible Study, an adult Sunday school teacher, children choir director and a member of the Garden Club. She was a Cub Scout leader and 4H Club leader. She also held her Life Underwriters Training Council Certification and attended the North Mississippi walk to Emmaus #180 at Grenada Lake April 21, 2005.
Survivors include: her husband of 49 years, Larry Joe Pratt Sr. of Batesville; two daughters, Cheryl Kay Pratt Linder of Meridian and husband David, and Beth Ann Pratt Dunlap of Batesville, and husband Michael; one son, Larry Joe Pratt Jr. of Batesville and wife Denise; one sister, Martha Rae Siltman Finley of Starkville and one brother Leslie Howard Siltman of Gallatin, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Linder, William David Linder, Rachel Ann Linder, Robert Pratt Dunlap, Morgan Rebecca Dunlap, William Michael Dunlap, Larry Joe Pratt III and wife Sarah, Jonathan Lee Pratt and two great-grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Pratt and Caleb James Pratt.
She was preceded in death by one son James Ray “Jim” Pratt and one sister Sandra Siltman Martin. Memorials may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church or Pope Baptist Church.
Hazel Lee Tate
BATESVILLE– Hazel Lee Tate, 87, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Golden Living Nursing Home.
Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.

Willie James Young
BATESVILLE– Willie James Young, 53, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at his residence.
Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Visitation is today 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will be in New Bethlehem Cemetery. Dr. Zannie Leland will officiate. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home has charge.
Young, born May 22, 1955, was the brother of Edna Childs.
Young was an usher at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
