Tigers take care of Jackets

The South Panola Tiger baseball team ran it’s winning streak to four games in a row with a 8-2 win over Starkville Tuesday in District 2-5A action.

Ethan Bright led the Tigers offensively with a pair of doubles and a home run. Tyler Benson added a double and two singles while David Renfroe recorded two singles as South Panola rapped out 11 hits on the night.

Renfroe also picked up win on the mound by going six innings while scattering four hits and striking out eight to run his record to 4-2 on the year. Benson pitched the final inning relief.

South Panola (11-5; 2-1) traveled to Tupelo last night and will entertain Starkville tonight starting at 5 p.m. with junior varsity followed by varsity action at 7 p.m.

The Tigers will host Tupelo Tuesday in the third game of the district series at 5 and 7 p.m.
