Choice of words not cause of grief or mourning, writer says

In response to Andrew Brasher’s (Cornerstone Baptist Church) letter to the editor, dated July 13, 2007, let me begin by quoting 1 Corinthians 15:9,10 “For I am the least of the apostles, but by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace has not been ineffective.” I am truly blessed to be a Southern Roman Catholic Christian and needless to say I have not grieved or mourned our Holy Father’s choice of words. No one can deny that our Lord only founded one Church.

Maybe Mr. Brasher needs to do an inquisition into our Catholic faith. Exactly who is defective?

Did Jesus not teach us that not one of us is perfect, but only our Father? Finally, I mean no disrespect to Mr. Brasher, but I find it interesting that a Southern Baptist, such as he, has complete knowledge and understanding of our Vatican II counsel.

Let me now go and retrieve my rosary, to the dismay of some, and pray as Jesus did in John 17:20, 21 “…so they may be one, as we are one.”

Peace be with you!
