American Legion league winding down

In the opening American Legion Park League Tuesday night, the Yankees defeated the Royals  7-2. The winning pitcher was Ryan Maxwell and Matt Brown took the loss for the Royals.

The Yankees had five hits. Chris Brown led with a triple and a double. The Royals had three hits with Lee Self leading with two singles.

Red Sox-7    A’s-4

In the nite cap it was the Red Sox over the A’s 7-4. The winning pitcher was Taylor Rotenberry and getting the loss was J.W. Willis.

Colby Runnells went three for three, Rotenberry and Erick Weaver were two for three.

With one on and his first at bat, Rotenberry hit a home run over the left field fence to put the Red Sox up 2-0.

For the A’s it was Willis and D.G. Arnold with two hits each.

The teams have three games left after Thursday night’s matchups.

Tuesday, June 19 the Yankees and Red Sox will play in the first game at 5:30 followed by the A’s and Royals at 7:30 p.m.
