Memory card theft nets $610 fine during Municipal Court
By Emily Williams

A Verona man told Judge Bill McKenzie that he was "in the wrong place at the wrong time," as he entered a guilty plea to a shoplifting charge during Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday.

Mario Brooks of 536-A Water St., Verona, told Judge McKenzie that his 16 year-old cousin had stolen four X-Box memory cards from Wal-Mart, but the police officer arrested him (Brooks) instead.

Brooks said, "I might as well pay it," after entering a guilty plea. He was fined $610.
