SP Season Tickets Remain on Sale
BY MYRA BEAN SPORTS EDITOR
This is the final week for last year’s season ticket holders to purchase their seats from last year at South Panola High School football games.
Reserved seats sales will continue through Aug. 1, for those persons who held season tickets last year.
Season tickets for new patrons will be available beginning. Monday, Aug. 4, at the high school office.
Ticket holders will need to go to the South Panola High School office to choose their seating. Season passes are $50 for all seven home games.
The new home seating is located on the east side of the stadium. The stands offer 30 rows of seats to see some of the best high school football in Mississippi.
The seats are already numbered and those numbers will be used for South Panola seating. There are 29 seats per row.
According to the athletic department, the reserved seats will be sectioned off from the general admission seats.
A question arose regarding non-school age children in the reserved section.
"Any child, regardless of age, who takes up a seat in the reserved section will have to have a ticket," said athletic director Ron Oakes.
Andrew Moore of the Tri-County Rangers U.S.S.S.A. 12-year-old team hit a grand slam home run recently and made the U.S.S.S.A. National All-Star Tournament team.
The North Delta Green Wave varsity football team hit the field for the first day of fall practice yesterday. Kicker Russ Belk was under the watchful eye of Coach Rick Johnston. The holder is Harrison Nickle.
The Green Wave will open the 2003 regular football season at home Friday, Aug. 22. The Green Wave will host Rossville. Before that day, the Green Wave will participate in a scrimmage at Bayou Friday, Aug. 8 and a jamboree at Strider on Thursday, Aug. 14.
