BATESVILLE- The South Panola baseball team entered the annual Wes Smythe tournament 2-3 after falling to Water Valley 11-7, Saturday, February 23.

Sherwood Honored
BATESVILLE – South Panola senior Samantha Sherwood has been selected for inclusion in the 2001-2002 high school edition of Who?s Who In Sports.
The book is a national publication that honors outstanding achievement in high school athletics.
ND ladies advance to state

GREENVILLE – The North Delta Lady Green Wave shook off a disappointing performance against Oak Hill in the quarterfinal round and defeated Central Private in the semi-final round 64-60.

SP track sells Boston butts The South Panola Track team will be selling Boston Butts as a fundraiser through Friday, March 1. Bill Wigley of Big Daddy?s Bar-b-cue will cook the meat. The Boston butts are $20 and the team will be out Tuesday, February 26, selling the meat. To order call Coach Lucien King at 563-4756.
ND lift a thon to be held North Delta will hold its annual lift-a-thon Friday, March 1, at 6:30 PM. Participants from the eighth through 11 grades will perform one rep max on the squat and bench press. There is no charge for admission.
JP Hudson signup set The J.P. Hudson Park board of directors announces the sign up dates for the 2002 season. Registration for this year?s teams will be held Saturday, March 2, and March 9, from 9 AM to 2PM. Sign up will be held in the First Security Bank?s second floor training room. There is a $90 registration fee for one child, and $50 for each additional child. A softball camp with Coach K will be held in March. Call Lisa Heafner for more information at 563-5382.
