Neely, Fred Earl
Fred Earl Neely, 65, of Water Valley, died Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at his home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 21, at 11 a.m. at Water Valley City Auditorium. Burial was in Green Goshen C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Water Valley. Nicholson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Neely, son of the late Buddy and Mary Neely, was born February 10, 1937, in Water Valley. He was a truck driver for the City of Water Valley and a member of Solid Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Neely of Water Valley; seven daughters, Mable Hervey, and Stephanie Daniels, both of Water Valley, Frances Neely, Dollie Neely and Mary Neely, all of Peoria, Illinois, Eva Reed of Detroit, Michigan, and Hazel Mister of Wisconsin; five sons, Carl Neely of Holly Springs, Junior Earl Neely and Raymond Neely, both of Water Valley, Tyrone Neely of Winona and Eddie Mister of Coffeeville; and a sister, Hazel Phillips of Water Valley.


Nelson, Felix H. "Heck"
Felix Nelson, 85, of Pope, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at Sardis Community Nursing Home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at Pope Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiated the services. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Nelson, son of the late Henry Clay Nelson and Zella Deaton Nelson, was born May 31, 1917. He was heavy equipment operator and a member of Pope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Mildred Snider Nelson of Pope; two daughters, Nyoka Beer of Cordova, Tenn., and Sue Clifton of Pope; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Nettles, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Nettles, 72, of Sardis, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 2, at 11 a.m. at Rock Hill M.B. Church. Rev. James Buchanan officiated the service. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary, Inc. had charge of arrangements.

Nettles, daughter of the late L.V. and Mary Petty, was born June 29, 1930, in Sardis. She was a housewife and a member of Rock Hill M.B. Church.

Survivors include a brother, Isiah "Pete" Petty of Sardis.
