Norma Ann Wohlwend, 81

Norma Ann Wohlwend, 81, passed away Friday evening, March 12, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford surrounded by her loved ones.

A memorial service was held Sunday, March 14,  in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Norma was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Aberdeen to the late James Claude and Callie Edith Bain Gentry. She was of the Methodist faith, and Norma provided care for the residents at Providence Assisted Living Home in Batesville for over 20 years. Norma loved her job as a caregiver. Most of all, she was a great role model for all her children and grandchildren.

Norma’s caring and compassionate memory will live on through her family, which includes, three daughters, Cathy Ware Cosby (Randy, Sr.) of Courtland, Connie Ware McCurdy (late Bill) of Pope, Jacqueline Wohlwend Reynolds (Jeff) of Byhalia; son, Michael Wohlwend and fiancé Tonja of Oxford; two sisters, Carolyn Faye Palmer of Denham Springs, LA, Carla Hatchett of Shreveport, LA; brother, James Benjamin Gentry of Houston, TX; 14 grandchildren, Chris Tubbs (Nicole), Chip Cosby (Leah) , Candace Campos (Alex), Courtney Morris (Jonathan), Laura McCurdy Anglin (Wess), Michael George Wohlwend, Casie Lynn Black, Kaila Brianne Jones, Douglas Wayne Jones, Callie Ann Caine (Cody), Dustin James Theodore Wohlwend, Korey Michael Bruno Kelemen, Dylan Marcus Kurt Ballard, and Hannah Nancy Dawn Reynolds; and 19 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Ware; her second husband, George Leo Wohlwend; one daughter, Jocqueline Kay Wohlwend; two brothers, Mickey Gentry and Sydney Wayne Gentry; and 2 great grandchildren.
