Sept. 7

The first annual Community Church Picnic will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Paradise Point Pavilion on Sardis Lake. Lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Everyone is invited for good food, music, karaoke, singing, dancing, games and bouncy’s for the children. Just bring lawn chairs and tents. The event is hosted by Mt. Gillion, Bethlehem, Bluff Springs, Pilgrim Rest and St. Peter’s. Donations are accepted, but not expected.

Sept.  8

West Camp M.B. Church will have its Pastor’s 6th Anniversary service at 3 p.m. Church pastor is Rev. Harlen Harris. Guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin Ellis of Pilgrim’s Rest. Everyone is cordially invited.

Nelson Chapel M.B. Church will celebrate its pastor and wife’s 14th Love Day with an appreciation Sunday. Guest speaker in the 11 a.m service will be Minister Deundre Jackson of the Springfield M.B Church of Senatobia and speaker for the 3 p.m. service will be Bishop Charles Bond of the New Salem M.B Church of Memphis.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its pastor and wife’s, Rev. And Mrs. Sammie Parker, Love Day, at 2:30 p.m. The special guest speaker will be Dr. Walter Newson of Mt. Gillion. The public is invited to attend.
