Mississippi Blood Services will hold blood drives at two Batesville locations this week as part of the “Save our Summer $1,000 Giveaway” promotion.

The MBS donor coach will be at MDOT offices Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. , and at Batesville Nutrition Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. With the T-shirt all donor receive from the MBS, Batesville Nutrition site donors will each get a loaded tea drink, a popular choice of customers who enjoy the business’ meal replacement shakes and healthy energy teas and drinks.

MDOT offices are at 150 Hwy. 51 N. and Batesville Nutrition is located at 524 Hwy. 51 S. Every donor until the promotion ends Aug. 11 is entered into a statewide drawing each Monday morning for a $1,000 prize.

Donors must be at least 16 years old (parental consent needed), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID. The process is simple, fast, and helps save lives.

MBS is the only not-for-profit blood center headquartered in Mississippi. The group supplies a safe supply of blood and blood products to state hospitals from DeSoto County to the Gulf Coast.
