The Mid South Food Bank Mobile Pantry will be in the Sardis Fred’s parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free food will be distributed to 250 needy families on a first-come, first served basis.

May 23

The Panola County Cattlemen’s Association will be selling Ribeye Steak Sandwiches in the Sav-A-Lot Parking Lot on Thursday & Friday (May 23-24) from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.   All proceeds from this sale will go towards the Youth Scholarship Fund.

May 25

There will be a Crowder School Reunion beginning at 4 p.m. at the Crowder Baptist Church Family Life Center. Pot luck dinner starts at 5 p.m. All former students are invited.

Batesville Church of Christ will have a community blood drive Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the annex. All blood screened is for Lebonheur and St. Jude’s Hospitals. Black Jack Community Center will have Karaoke Night from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 and concessions will be available. Good family fun. For more information, call 563-7060. Karaoke is held each second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

The next Food Giveaway by the North Panola Mobile Food Pantry will be Tuesday, May 28, from noon to 2 p.m. at Cistern Hill Church in Como. Pick up vouchers are the following places: Crenshaw Library,  Monday, May 13 from noon to 4 p.m.; at Sardis Library Friday, May 17, from noon to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, May 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at  Cistern Hill Church.

The Batesville Junior Woman’s League is now accepting applications for the 2019 Little Miss Batesville Pageant. Girls ages four to six by pageant date (June 2) and who reside in the South Panola School District are eligible to participate. Applications can be found on the Batesville Junior Woman’s League Facebook page or by email mhshudson@gmail.com or text 609-0973 to request one.

The South Panola Class of 1979 is planning its 40th year reunion

The Dreamriders will sponsor its annual Kids Day at the Lake, Saturday, July 13, beginning at 11 a.m. All children are 18 are welcome to enjoy refreshments, games, bouncy houses and see sights like the Lifeflight helicopter if it is available.
